We are proud to use the revolutionary WaveLight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q Excimer Laser for LASIK vision correction. During traditional LASIK, the physician would numb the eye with a topical anesthetic and then cut a flap in the cornea (surface of the eye) with a blade. With the Allegretto Wave Eye-Q Excimer Laser, we can now provide the entire procedure blade-free – using a laser for each step!

First, you will lie on a patient bed underneath the laser machines, and your eyes will be numbed using topical anesthetic eye drops. Dr. Mitchell will then use an Allegretto Wave excimer laser to cut the cornea, creating a hinged flap that will be pulled back to expose the interior of each eye. Using this laser instead of a hand-held blade ensures a more precise, sterile cut.

Once the corneal flap is folded back, Dr. Mitchell will position the laser and ask you to focus on a blinking light. Using PerfectPulse Technology™,the WaveLight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q Excimer Laser will send pulses of laser energy into the eye which will reshape your cornea to correct your vision. These pulses are precisely calibrated to reshape your unique, individual eye, giving you the most accurate results possible. Research has revealed that 93% of patients who have LASIK surgery using the WaveLight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q Excimer Laser regain at least 20/20 vision or better. Some patients also see an improvement with glares during night-time driving.
